Beautiful Lismore
Situated in the beautiful town of Lismore, Voted Irelands Tidy Town Overall winner in 2004. You have to visit to believe. A beautiful Heritage Town with the magnificent Lismore Castle and Gardens. The town sits alongside the stately Blackwater River. Relax and enjoy tranquil Lismore, stroll along any of the sign posted walks both in and around the town. Take in the charm of its fine collection of 18th and 19th Century buildings.

Mere minutes away you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Knockmealdown Mountains, the Vee Gap or the Nire Valley. Less than 20 minutes away are the blue flag Beahes of Clonea and Ardmore. There are many other historic places such as Mount Mellary Abbey, Dromona Gate and the Towers at Ballysaggartmore.


Dining & Entertainment
When it comes to dining you are spoilt for choice, the exquisite Barca restaurant (Spanish & International cuisine)is seconds away, the award winning Café Molese (Italian offerings), Eamon’s Place(renowned for the best steak in town), Lismore Hotel (a wide selection), China Moon (Chinese) and the ever friendly Castle Lodge Restaurant (serving a wide variety of dishes). If you prefer to stay in there are 3 take aways. If you would like to savour up the local atmosphere you have a choice of 8 pubs, many of which also serve lunches and light snacks. If you like live entertainment or traditional Irish music you are never far away.

Accomodation
Delginis Cottage over 150 years old, is a wonderful mixture of old and new. While retaining many of its original features, the cottage has been lovingly restored and upgraded to meet the demands of modern living.

Deilginis has one double room and two single rooms. It has a cosy sitting room with the original open fire. It has a large fully equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a bathroom with toilet and a separate shower room with toilet and a large garden to the rear. All rooms and facilities are at ground level with easy access. All your mod cons are included, microwave, washer/drier, dishwasher, oven, fridge/freezer and with central heating it will feel like home from home! There is ample free parking space outside the property.

If you like a quiet holiday or an action packed adventure….the choice is yours.

 

 

 

sleeping :
The cottage comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 single and 1 cots . This gives room for up to 4 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

general :
The cottage has 2 bathrooms for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

entertainment :
The cottage has television video. The music system will play cds.

eating & living :
There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

"I had a memorable stay in this quaint cottage which has loads of character and is tastefully refurbished, everything you need is provided. Theresa the caretaker a gem. Lismore and the surrounding area are a delight, the people very friendly and helpful. The Castle Lodge a must. An excellent location with plenty of amenities. I will definitely be back."

"Cottage was extremely welcoming. Did not have to worry about anything which is what a holiday is all about. Cottage equipped with everything you need. Great to have Theresa next door if you have any queries and good source of knowledge of local events. Went to the Tallow horse fair due to being told eatlier and had a fantastic day. In a beautiful area and all amenities available. Excellent way to see Ireland for the very first time as central location and beautiful Heritage village. Told lots of family and friends about Deliginis. "

"Delightful place and real home from home. We were especially happy to have the help from caretaker Teresa who was a real 'good neighbour'. The cottage is excellently kept and thoughtfully furnished with even details like games for the children. The only flip-side was having to feed the electric meter but we discovered that it only guzzled electricity if we used too many appliances - but we agree this is the only fair way of paying for the electricity and prevents abuse. We will definitely return and will recommend our friends."

"Lovely cottage. Everything you could ask for plus the garden games were a real surprise (boules included). Very clean cottage, Theresa the caretaker a saint! Great selection of places to eat in Lismore and everybody very friendly. I would recommend the Castle Lodge for good food."
